Touching God’s People partners with consumers, families, Regional Centers, community organizations, and natural supports to deliver responsive, person-centered services that support personal goals while promoting health, safety, and quality of life. At Touching God’s People, we believe supported living services are more than individual support-they are a partnership that empowers people with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives in the communities they choose.
Our agency follows six guiding principles that shape every service we provide:
Person-Centered Services
Each consumer is respected as the primary decision-maker in their own life. Services are tailored to each person’s strengths, preferences, goals, and aspirations.
Self-Determination and Informed Choice
Consumers are supported in making informed choices about their homes, relationships, employment, healthcare, finances, recreation, and daily routines. Staff offer education, coaching, and assistance while honoring each person’s right to make personal decisions.
Least Restrictive Support
We promote independence by providing only the support necessary to protect health, safety, and successful community living. As individuals gain skills, we adjust assistance to encourage greater autonomy.
Community Inclusion
The community is the central setting for learning, working, socializing, and daily life. Services encourage meaningful participation in community activities, employment, education, recreation, civic engagement, and relationships.
Building Natural Supports
Touching God’s People helps consumers build and maintain relationships with family, friends, neighbors, employers, faith communities, and other unpaid supports that promote stability and belonging.
Continuous Growth
Supported living services encourage ongoing personal development. Every interaction is an opportunity to build skills, increase confidence, expand independence, and help consumers achieve the outcomes in their Individual Program Plans (IPPs).
